The Beginning of NUCA Texas: 2016

NUCA Welcomes A New Texas State Chapter

During NUCA’s 2016 Convention in Puerto Rico, NUCA of Virginia, the last chapter to receive a NUCA charter, presented a chapter charter to NUCA Texas — a state-level NUCA-affiliated chapter. The Lone Star State chapter starts out nearly 100-members strong by incorporating NUCA North Texas members and existing NUCA National members not previously affiliated with a NUCA chapter. The state chapter was formed to build a strong utility contractor coalition to address important industry issues with one voice when the 85th Texas legislature convenes in Austin next January.

“The statewide chapter will be a catalyst for an improved safety, regulatory and legislative environment for the utility contractor industry throughout Texas,” said Chapter President Alex Kocher. “NUCA Texas will be a voice to our state legislature about the needs of the utility industry. It will also promote development of regional chapters where local issues can be addressed.”

The formation of NUCA Texas has sparked new chapter interest and resulted in new members from the West Texas and Houston areas. With this momentum, NUCA and NUCA Texas will likely welcome additional regional associations in Texas in the coming months. For more information about getting involved in NUCA Texas, please contact the association’s Executive Director, Deana Butorac, at 214.643.6065 or the NUCA National office at 703.358.9300.
